Account & Data Deletion

At Newslett, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal information from our services.

How to Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your Newslett account through two methods:

Option 1: In-App Deletion

The fastest way to delete your account is through the Newslett app:

  1. Open the Newslett app on your device
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon)
  3. Scroll down to Account section
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your decision by tapping "Yes, Delete My Account"
  6. Enter your password or authenticate to confirm

Your account will be marked for deletion immediately, and all data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Option 2: Email Request

If you prefer, you can request account deletion via email:

  1. Send an email to delete@newslett.app
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include the following information in your email:
    • The email address associated with your Newslett account
    • Your full name (optional, for verification)
    • Confirmation that you understand this action is permanent

We will process your request and send a confirmation email within 5 business days.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

Authentication Data User ID (UID), login credentials, session tokens Permanently Deleted
Preferences News category preferences, reading settings, saved articles Permanently Deleted
Reading History Articles viewed, bookmarks, reading progress Permanently Deleted
Analytics Identifiers Firebase Analytics user ID, app instance ID Anonymized/Deleted
Advertising Identifiers AdMob user data (if applicable) Reset/Disassociated

Deletion Timeline

Immediate

Your account is deactivated and you will be logged out of all devices. You will no longer be able to sign in.

Within 7 Days

Your personal data is removed from our primary databases and active systems.

Within 30 Days

All data is permanently deleted from backup systems. A confirmation email is sent to you upon completion.

Data We May Retain

In certain circumstances, we may retain limited information even after account deletion:

  • Legal Compliance: Data required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements
  • Transaction Records: Records of premium subscription payments (as required by financial regulations)
  • Aggregated Analytics: Non-identifiable, aggregated data that cannot be traced back to you
  • Abuse Prevention: Information necessary to prevent fraud or abuse of our Service

Any retained data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Before You Delete

Please consider the following before requesting account deletion:

  • ⚠️ Account deletion is permanent and irreversible
  • ⚠️ You will lose access to all saved articles, preferences, and reading history
  • ⚠️ If you have an active premium subscription, it will be cancelled (refund policies apply as per your app store)
  • ⚠️ You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Newslett again in the future

If you're experiencing issues with the app, please consider contacting our support team at support@newslett.app before deleting your account. We may be able to help resolve your concerns.

Cancel Premium Subscription

If you have an active premium subscription, please note:

  • Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription billing
  • You must cancel your subscription through your app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) to stop future payments
  • Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to premium features immediately
  • Refunds are subject to the refund policies of your respective app store

To cancel your subscription:

  • Google Play: Open Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Newslett → Cancel
  • Apple App Store: Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Newslett → Cancel

Third-Party Data

When you delete your Newslett account, we will:

  • Delete your data from Firebase Authentication
  • Request deletion of your analytics data from Firebase Analytics
  • Reset advertising identifiers associated with your account in AdMob (if applicable)

However, data collected directly by third-party services (such as Google Account data if you used Google Sign-In) is managed by those services. Please refer to their privacy policies for information on how to manage or delete that data:
